For more than 60 years, the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) has applied science and technology to make the world a safer place.

We have an opening for a Technical Procurement Coordinator to provide technical and administrative support. You will be responsible for procuring products and materials in accordance with approved blanket agreements. This position is in the Radioactive and Hazardous Waste Management (RHWM) Program.

Essential Duties
- Accurately and efficiently source materials and prepare necessary order using an electronic order system.
- Review incoming orders to determine appropriate course of action and work with requesters to clarify details and gather additional information necessary to procure the product(s) needed.
- Resolve complex procurement issues and determine course of action using established guidelines, techniques, and procedures.
- Commit funds on behalf of the Laboratory to procure orders and manage process within Laboratory’s procurement system.
- Receive orders, validate products and pricing, identify and resolve discrepancies, and coordinate delivery of shipments to requestors.
- Reconcile transactions, resolve billing and delivery discrepancies, and document results to ensure complete and accurate records for auditing purposes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Marginal Duties
- Provide backup to other Directorate Technical Procurement Coordinators.

Qualifications
- Experience sourcing materials and products, obtaining pricing information, and placing orders using an electronic procurement system or application.
- Experience monitoring product shipments and receipts, including property management in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Experience compiling, tracking, monitoring, resolving and reporting data related to procurements in process and completed.
- Experience with computers and related Microsoft software (spreadsheets, word processing, and databases).
- Experience handling multiple projects and complex tasks with frequent interruptions and conflicting/changing priorities. 
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, administrative and organizational skills with a focus on attention to detail necessary to effectively communicate with vendors and programmatic personnel.
- Ability to use independent judgment when making decisions and resolving problems.
- Ability to work independently as well as a team member.

Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Clean Harbors procurement contract.
- Experience as an active Technical Release Representative.

Pre-Employment Drug Test:  External applicant(s) selected for this position will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
 

Anticipated Clearance Level:  None.

 

Note:   This is a Career Indefinite position. Lab employees and external candidates may be considered for this position.
